The Scottish Football Association have announced that Rangers have had their transfer embargo temporarily lifted.

Rangers' acceptance of the embargo is now likely to see the newco version of the club admitted into the SFA.

The former SPL champions, who were recently demoted to the Scottish Third Division after going into administration, will now be allowed to sign players up until the Friday, August 31 deadline.

The embargo will then be in effect from Saturday, September 1 of this year to Saturday, August 31, 2013.
