Mark Warburton: 'I am committed to Rangers'

Rangers manager Mark Warburton reveals that he remains loyal to the Scottish Championship club despite being linked to the vacant Queens Park Rangers job.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton admitted that he is flattered to be linked with the Queens Park Rangers job but remains committed to the project at Ibrox.

The former Brentford boss is believed to be on Tony Fernandes's shortlist to replace Chris Ramsey at Loftus Road, who was fired earlier this week.

However, Warburton believes that he would be letting down those he convinced to join Rangers in the summer if he was to leave for the Championship club.

The 53-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I never knew that. It is flattering but that is football, isn't it? My job is here at Rangers to put my head down with David [Weir] and the staff and take the club forward as quickly as possible.

"You can't ask players to be committed to a project and then not show commitment yourself.

"We know what we have to do. It is a fantastic club. Our target are very clear. We have had a good start and our focus is 100 per cent taking Rangers forward."

Rangers sit at the top of the Scottish Championship table and beat 10-man Alloa 4-0 over the weekend.
