Ally McCoist "100% committed" to Rangers promotion

Rangers manager Ally McCoist insists that he is "100% committed" to getting the team back in the Scottish Premiership amid reports that he has tendered his resignation.

Ally McCoist has insisted that he is "100% committed" to getting Rangers back in the Scottish Premiership, despite reports that he tendered his resignation earlier today.

There was speculation this afternoon that the former Rangers striker, who has been in charge of the side since 2011, offered to leave his post following an inconsistent run of form that has seen them slip nine points behind Scottish Championship leaders Hearts.

However, the 52-year-old told BT Sport: "I've been completely focused on the game tonight. My job is to get a team ready.

"I can assure the Rangers fans I'm 100% committed to getting Rangers into the top flight. I'll continue in my job and hopefully get them back into the top flight. We firmly believe we can put pressure on Hearts."

McCoist refused to confirm whether or not the reports were true, but said that he hoped tonight's match against Queen of the South would not be his final match with the team.
