Reading boss Paul Clement says that he will use the loan market in order to try to add at least one wide player to his squad.

Reading boss Paul Clement has indicated that he wants to sign a new winger before the end of August.

The Royals have made as many as seven first-team additions during the summer window, but Clement has watched his side lose both of their opening fixtures in the Championship.

Clement has two-and-a-half weeks to bring in more fresh faces, and it appears that a wide player will soon be arriving at the Madejski Stadium.

The 46-year-old is quoted by football.london as saying: "We have got a couple of targets which we are working on but there's nothing for sure yet.

"I've got eight defenders - two in each position - so I think a wide player will be the thing we are looking at. I like to have good options, good competition but balanced of course. Too many and it becomes demotivating for players."

Reading's next league fixture sees the club host Bolton Wanderers on August 18.
