Jack Hobbs is set for talks with both Reading and Wigan Athletic over a transfer this week, Hull City boss Steve Bruce has revealed.
Centre-back Hobbs was recalled by his parent club Hull last week from his loan at Nottingham Forest and now looks set for a move to a different Championship club.
"He has permission to speak to them so it's up to him to sort out now," Bruce told BBC Radio Humberside.
"The ball is in his court and we'll see where he goes before Friday."
Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi announced earlier this window that they had agreed a deal to sign Hobbs permanently, but negotiations have hit a stumbling block since then.
