Marcelo wary of Schalke 04 comeback

Real Madrid defender Marcelo tells his teammates to remain grounded after beating Schalke 2-0 to take a big step towards the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Marcelo has warned his Real Madrid teammates that there is still work to do before they can think about a quarter-final spot in the Champions League.

The Brazilian added to Cristiano Ronaldo's first-half header as the reigning champions took a big step toward the last eight with a 2-0 win away to Schalke 04 tonight.

"The tie is not finished just yet. We remain humble - anything can happen," he told Canal +. "We have to work [at the Santiago Bernabeu] like we did here in Gelsenkirchen in order to progress.

"Schalke are a great team and made life hard for us. We hold the advantage but nothing has been decided.

"This game help us get back the good feeling from 2014. We are on the right path again. We enjoyed ourselves on the pitch."

Carlo Ancelotti's side host the Germans at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 10.
