Real Madrid plan farewell match against Porto for Iker Casillas

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reveals that he hopes to arrange a match against Porto for the club's fans to say goodbye to goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Real Madrid have announced that they plan to arrange a match against Porto to say "farewell" to goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The 34-year-old has spent his entire career at the Bernabeu, joining Real's youth system in 1990, but it was confirmed at the weekend that he will be moving to the Portuguese club.

Club president Florentino Perez said at a press conference: "We hope to be able to hold a match with FC Porto where the Bernabeu can say their goodbye to Iker.

"I would have liked to be able to have held a farewell with the squad present. Iker never gave any problems at this club. After 25 years in the club, Iker deserves the respect of every Real Madrid supporter."

Casillas is expected to fly out to the Netherlands, where Porto are currently preparing for the new season, later this week.
