Cristiano Ronaldo "angry" about Mesut Ozil's Real Madrid exit

Cristiano Ronaldo says that Mesut Ozil's departure from Real Madrid to Arsenal is "very bad news".

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he is "angry" about the departure of teammate Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

The Portugal captain has expressed his outrage at the club's decision to let the German international leave for the Gunners, who smashed their transfer record to seal a £42.5m deal.

"Ozil's departure is very bad news for me," Spanish newspaper AS quotes Ronaldo as saying. "He was the player who knew my moves in front of goal the best. I'm angry about Ozil leaving."

Keeping Ronaldo content is said to be a big priority for Madrid following reports that he was unhappy with the club paying £85m for Gareth Bale, which has eclipsed the £80m fee that the club paid for the former Ballon d'Or winner.
