Martin Odegaard's agent has said that the prospect of a loan spell away from Real Madrid is "still relevant" for the youngster.
The 16-year-old was handed his first-team debut shortly before the end of last season, and is part of Rafael Benitez's squad for the club's pre-season tour.
Despite Odegaard travelling to Australia, agent Tore Pedersen told TV2: "A loan is still relevant."
Odegaard has been linked with a move to Celtic, having made his club debut under Hoops manager Ronny Deila during their time with Norwegian side Stromsgodset.
