Real Madrid have allegedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the deal came about as a result of two meetings between the Polish international's new agent Pini Zahavi and Real president Florentino Perez's right-hand man Jose Angel Sanchez.
Lewandowski is said to be ready to enter a two-year contract with the La Liga giants, which includes the option of a third year if both parties are keen on an extension.
Real reportedly turned their attention to the free-scoring Pole after Tottenham Hotspur rebuffed numerous approaches for England international Harry Kane.
However, The Mirror claims that Bayern are yet to agree to the sale of Lewandowski, who is said to have turned down Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal for the chance to join Los Blancos this summer.
Should reports of his imminent arrival in Madrid prove accurate, Karim Benzema's days at the Santiago Bernabeu could be numbered.
