Diego Lopez has no plans to leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez insists that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu this summer.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez has insisted that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu this summer.

The Spaniard rejoined Los Blancos in 2013 and immediately ousted Iker Casillas as the first-choice La Liga goalkeeper for the club.

Despite his standing, it had been reported that Lopez was considering seeking pastures new at the end of the season, but such talk has been quelled by the player himself.

"I am on contract and want to stay," Marca quotes the 32-year-old as saying.

"I feel I have the energy to continue as I have up to now. I can't see a problem; the gaffer will decide who plays. The two of us should start out with the same chances; every season is different."

Casillas's long-term future, meanwhile, remains unclear.
