The report claims that Real Madrid will move for the Frenchman this month if the call is received, but Pochettino believes that his side can retain Mbappe's services even if Messi does complete a move to Paris.
Mbappe - who did not score a single goal at Euro 2020 - has amassed 132 goals and 61 assists from 171 games at PSG, including 42 strikes from 47 appearances last term.
