Real Madrid are reportedly considering moving for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz next summer.
The 25-year-old has been consistently linked with a return to Spain over the last year or so, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona believed to be admirers of the former Real Betis youngster.
Napoli have thus far resisted the interest in the midfielder, but his contract is due to expire in June 2023, which could place the Italian outfit in a difficult position next summer unless a new deal is agreed.
According to El Nacional, Real Madrid are keen to bring a new midfielder to the Bernabeu in 2022 and have identified Ruiz as a possible acquisition.
The Spaniard has again been an important player for his Italian club at the start of the 2021-22 campaign, contributing two goals and two assists in nine appearances in all competitions.
In total, Ruiz has scored 17 goals and registered 12 assists in 137 appearances for Napoli since making the move from Betis in the summer of 2018.
