James Rodriguez may reportedly remain at Real Madrid for at least the first half of the season after suffering a calf injury.

James Rodriguez could reportedly remain at Real Madrid as a result of sustaining a calf injury.

Having spent the last two years on loan at Bayern Munich, there has been frequent speculation regarding the future of the Colombia international.

While Zinedine Zidane is allegedly keen to keep the 28-year-old, AC Milan are the latest club to be linked with the playmaker.

However, the Daily Mail suggests that Rodriguez may stay at the Bernabeu after picking up a calf issue against Real Valladolid on Saturday evening.

Real confirmed on Monday that the forward was being assessed, although they failed to outline the potential recovery time.

Rodriguez has a contract with Los Blancos until 2021.
