Midfielder Toni Kroos reportedly intends to remain at Real Madrid for at least another season.

Real Madrid have reportedly been handed a boost over the future of midfielder Toni Kroos.

Throughout this campaign, speculation has persisted regarding the next move of the 33-year-old, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Despite a recent refresh of the Los Blancos midfield, Kroos has remained an important part of Carlo Ancelotti's squad at the Santiago Bernabeu, making 30 starts and five substitute appearances in all competitions.

However, there have been suggestions that the former Germany international was giving consideration to hanging up his boots.

Talk remains that Real want to add to their midfield ranks during the summer, something which could negatively impact Kroos in terms of game time.

Nevertheless, according to reports in Spain, Kroos intends to extend his contract at the European champions by at least another 12 months.

The report alleges that Ancelotti has already reassured Kroos that he will not be demoted down the pecking order, even if there is increased competition for his place.

Real Madrid have been frequently credited as admirers of Jude Bellingham, although it is unclear whether club officials intend to push for the Englishman later this year or in 2024.

Much may depend on whether resolutions are found with other members of the squad, with the futures of Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos also up in the air.

While it has been constantly stated that Modric will also extend his terms at Real by another 12 months, a new contract for the veteran is yet to be finalised.

Meanwhile, Ceballos is coming to the end of his contract and has recently indicated that he will not renew his deal if he feels that he is undeserving or will not receive regular game.

The 26-year-old has been provided with 11 starts and 18 substitute outings during 2022-23, although just 38 minutes have come in the Champions League.

Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are all regarded as key players for the present and future by Real.
