Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is coy when asked about a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that "it would be disrespectful" of him to discuss a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

Zidane said at the end of last month that he was "in love" with the France international amid rumours of a big-money bid for the 20-year-old in next summer's transfer window.

However, when questioned on the attacker ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia, the Frenchman took a more cautious approach.

"He is a PSG player and I am not going to comment here what happens there. It would be disrespectful. I know Kylian very well, but I have to show respect," Zidane told reporters.

Mbappe, who played a key role in France winning the 2018 World Cup when he was just a teenager, has scored 13 times in 16 appearances for Thomas Tuchel's side this season.

In all, the versatile attacker has managed 73 goals in 103 outings for Les Parisiens since arriving from Monaco ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
