Real Sociedad hold on to beat Eibar in La Liga

Xabi Prieto's second-half header is enough for Real Sociedad to beat Eibar 1-0 in La Liga.

David Moyes's Real Sociedad have beaten Eibar 1-0 in La Liga tonight courtesy of a Xabi Prieto goal.

Prieto almost opened the scoring after just eight minutes, but his header from a Carlos Vela cross drifted marginally wide.

Vela and Yuri both went close in a dominant opening spell for the hosts, before Eibar almost took the lead through the in-form Manu del Moral.

Sociedad broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Prieto rose high to head home Ruben Pardo's cross, following a corner that Eibar had only partially cleared.

Vela and Yuri went close again for the hosts, while Angel had Eibar's best second-half chance, but he shot straight at the keeper as Sociedad saw out the game.
