Montreal Impact 3-1 New York Red Bulls

Goals from Marco Di Vaio, Davy Arnaud and Sanna Nyassi loosen New York Red Bulls' hold on top spot in the Eastern Conference.

New York Red Bulls' hold on top spot in the Eastern Conference has been loosened by a shock defeat at Montreal Impact.

After a first half which the league-leaders had dominated, Montreal stormed into a two-goal lead within five minutes of the restart, courtesy of strikes from Marco Di Vaio and Davy Arnaud.

Thierry Henry reduced the deficit with a precise finish just before the hour mark, but Sanna Nyassi smashed home from close range to seal the win 16 minutes from time.

New York have now failed to win in five consecutive away matches. Their last victory on the road came at Montreal in May.
