Cuba 0-1 Canada

Canada open their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 victory over Cuba in Havana.

Canada have started their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign on a winning note with a 1-0 victory over Cuba in Havana.

The only goal of the game came 10 minutes after half time when Olivier Occean got in front of his man to head in David Edgar's cross.

However, the away side's night was made harder soon after when goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld was sent off for handling outside of the area.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Canadians were able to hold on for the three points.
