Rochdale manager Keith Hill has suggested that his side were 'guilty of plotting their own downfall' in their 2-0 defeat by Wigan Athletic this afternoon.
Goals from Jason Pearce and Michael Jacobs gave the Latics three points at Spotland to extend their unbeaten league run to 10 matches, and Hill believes that his side did not do enough with the ball to trouble Gary Caldwell's team.
"They definitely had the best of the first half, but I think we grew into the game," Hill told Sky Sports News after the game. "Just as we were getting the momentum, they scored the second goal.
"In the second half the opposition allowed us to have a bit of possession, but you've got to have penetration, and we didn't get that.
"I won't get too downhearted. It's about margins - margins in the right area of the pitch - and we were guilty of plotting our own downfall today."
Rochdale will take on Doncaster Rovers in their next fixture on Saturday, November 21.
