Mattia Destro: 'Winning more important than goals'

Mattia Destro says that he is delighted to have scored for Roma in their win over Hellas Verona, but admits that claiming the three points was more important.

Roma forward Mattia Destro has said that he is more concerned about the team winning matches than his own goalscoring record.

The 23-year-old scored a stunning individual goal as his team earned a 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona on Saturday evening to extend their winning league run.

"I am happy with my goal but the most important thing is that the team won," Destro told Mediaset. "Our group is tight, you can see that when we celebrate our goals.

"It is too early to say that the title race is just between us and Juventus. The season is long, so you cannot speak of a duel just yet.

"I am looking forward to playing both Manchester City and Juve, I'll face the challenge head on."

Destro has scored two goals in four appearances for Roma this season.
