Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier said that their 1-0 win over Dijon has renewed their hope of qualifying for Europe.
A first-half strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang was enough to see off the Ligue 1 strugglers at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The win sees Les Verts go level on points with fifth-placed Lyon.
"This was a massively important win, our third in a row, and it sees us climb to 56 points," said Galtier. "It's a win that gives us a lot of hope.
"We've got a trip to Paris on Wednesday and we need to recover for that. We need to give everything in our last four games."
Saint-Etienne travel to title chasing Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
