Napoli hit five past Sampdoria

Napoli beat Sampdoria 5-2 to stretch their unbeaten run in Serie A to five games.

Napoli have stretched their unbeaten run in Serie A to five matches by beating Sampdoria 5-2 this afternoon.

The first chance of the match fell to Roberto Soriano, who found space to shoot from inside the box, before drilling an effort across goal and wide of the far post.

Napoli took the lead soon after when Federico Fernandez saw his header saved by Vincenzo Fiorillo and Duvan Zapata reacted quickly to tap home the rebound.

The visitors scored a second soon after through Lorenzo Insigne, who smashed a strike from long range into the roof of the net past Fiorillo.

Sampdoria quickly responded and pulled a goal back moments later when Eder drilled a strike from outside the box into the far corner past Pepe Reina.

It did not take Napoli long to restore their two-goal advantage as Jose Callejon scored their third goal in the 32nd minute with a low free kick that Fiorillo should have kept out.

After the break, the visitors continued to dominate and they added a fourth in the 47th minute, when Marek Hamsik tapped in at the back post following Zapata's ball across the box.

Just past the hour-mark Napoli made it five, as Shkodran Mustafi turned Callejon's cross into his own net.

With two minutes of the match left to play, Pawel Wszolek pulled a goal back for Sampdoria with a curling effort into the top corner, but it proved little more than a consolation as Napoli claimed the three points.
