Schalke 04 coach Jens Keller has agreed terms on a new deal with the Bundesliga club that will see him stay until the summer of 2015.
Keller took over last December following the sacking of previous coach Huub Stevens, and sporting director Horst Heldt said that he is pleased with the job Keller has done so far.
"Jens came in during an extremely difficult time for the club last December," Heldt told Bundesliga.com. "In the face of significant obstacles, including from the public, Jens never deviated from his plan and brought Schalke back on track in the Bundesliga.
"We like the way Jens works. Despite the personnel difficulties of the past few months we've seen some obvious progress. Jens's philosophy is very clear and everyone at the club, from players right up to the key decision-makers, are happy with his work."
Schalke lost at home to Stuttgart, but are still in the driving seat for fourth place.
