Benedikt Howedes open to move abroad

Schalke 04 defender Benedikt Howedes says that he would be open to the idea of moving abroad.

Schalke 04 defender Benedikt Howedes has revealed that he would be interested in plying his trade elsewhere in the future.

The 25-year-old, who came through the club's youth system, has made 200 appearances for the German outfit.

"I am definitely able to imagine playing for a foreign club at one point in time," Howedes told Eins Live.

"I would learn a new language, get acquainted with a new culture. This is something that might happen. Still, I am a Schalke player and am not out for a shock move. I will absolutely fulfil my commitment to Schalke 04."

The centre-back's current deal expires in 2017.
