Vincenzo Montella says that he is determined to continue as Sevilla boss next season despite the team's recent inconsistent form.

Vincenzo Montella has said that he is determined to continue as Sevilla boss next season.

The former Italy striker took charge of the Spanish club in December, and led them into the quarter-finals of the Champions League courtesy of a surprise 2-1 aggregate success over Manchester United in the round of 16.

Sevilla's La Liga form has been inconsistent under the 43-year-old, however, which has led to suggestions that there could be another change in management at the end of the season.

Montella has revealed that there is "a release clause" in his contract, but the former Roma forward wants to stay at the Estadio Ramon.

"I'm happy here and I have a contract for next season," Montella told reporters. "It's true that a release clause exists, but I don't know it well. You should ask the president. I'm only thinking about coaching the team, but I'd like to continue my adventure at Sevilla."

Sevilla are without a victory in their last six league matches, which has left them down in seventh spot in the table.
