Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric dismisses speculation that Gary Megson is on the way out of the club.

Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric has dismissed rumours that Gary Megson has left the club.

The South Yorkshire club suffered a third straight league defeat at neighbours Chesterfield this weekend, fuelling speculation of a managerial exit.

However, Mandaric has insisted there is no truth in the rumours, telling BBC Radio Sheffield: "These rumours are not true.

"Gary is still our manager and we are now preparing for a big game [against Sheffield United] on Sunday."

The Steel City derby is one of the most eagerly anticipated across the country and the Owls will be looking to close the gap on their arch rivals in League One.

The defeat at Chesterfield left the Hillsborough club five points adrift of the Blades, having also played two more games.
