Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly opened talks with former England boss Steve McClaren with a view to succeed Carlos Carvalhal at Hillsborough.
The Owls are on the lookout for a new boss after parting company with Carvalhal, who was quickly snapped up by Premier League strugglers Swansea City.
According to the Sheffield Star, Wednesday's search has seen them turn to McClaren and chairman Dejphon Chansiri has personally spoken to the 56-year-old.
McClaren is currently out of work after stepping down from his advisory role with Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv earlier this week, with the hope of landing a job in English football.
Wednesday travel to Brentford on Saturday afternoon for their next league outing, aiming to improve on their current 14th-placed standing.
