Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal reportedly enters the running for the top job at Swansea City.

Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has reportedly emerged as one of the leading contenders to take over at Swansea City.

The 52-year-old was relieved of duty by the Championship side on Christmas Eve following a poor run of form that left the club without a win in seven and in 15th place in the table.

The Swans, meanwhile, are in the hunt for a new boss after sacking Paul Clement earlier this month with the club bottom of the Premier League and with just three wins on the board all season.

According to Wales Online, the Welsh side are in no rush to make an appointment but are "seriously considering" Carvalhal, who has previously managed Besiktas and Sporting Lisbon.

Other names in the frame include Fulham's Slavisa Jokanovic and ex-Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer.
