Bristol City complete a remarkable late comeback to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 at Hillsborough.

Bristol City completed a dramatic late comeback to move out of the relegation zone by winning 3-2 at Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

The Owls had twice gone ahead as Miguel Llera and Gary Madine both struck either side of a Sam Baldock penalty.

However, the Robins scored twice in the final four minutes of the match as Baldock equalised with a second spot kick before Albert Adomah struck a late free kick to give the away side the win.

The hosts got off to the perfect start when Llera turned in a corner to put the Owls ahead inside four minutes.

The Spanish defender nearly double his side's lead a few minutes later, but his low 25-yard free kick was stopped by Tom Heaton.

Wednesday continued to control the match, as Gary Madine saw his effort smothered by Heaton.

Despite their early dominance, the home side were pegged back when Baldock successfully converted a City penalty after he was brought down by Llera.

Chris Lines then went close to putting Wednesday back in front, but his shot was blasted just wide after a nice knock-down from a long ball.

It was Bristol who had the first chance after the break as Neil Danns combined with Baldock, but the latter put his effort just past Chris Kirkland's post.

Wednesday came close through Michail Antonio, as his effort was deflected just over the bar by Stephen McManus following Jermaine Johnson's cross.

Madine then spurned a chance for the Owls as he headed straight at Heaton from six yards out before Johnson fired a shot over the bar.

The hosts finally went back in front with 11 minutes left to play, as Madine was on hand to blast in the rebound following Johnson's parried shot.

The game was to suffer a dramatic late twist, as Madine turned from hero to zero after conceding a penalty for handball.

Baldock once against stepped up to draw Bristol level at 2-2.

The Robins completed a remarkable turnaround just three minutes from time, as Adomah found the top corner of the net with a free kick.

Wednesday thought they had grabbed an equaliser through Madine in the dying moments but it was ruled out as Llera was moaning at the referee.

Bristol held on to move out of the relegation zone to 21st, while Wednesday stay 23rd.
