Jose Semedo pens Sheffield Wednesday contract extension

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo pens a one-year contract extension to stay with the Championship club until the end of 2016-17.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo has signed a one-year contract extension at the Championship club.

The 31-year-old joined the Owls from Charlton Athletic in July 2011, having rejected a new contract at The Valley.

Semedo, a former Portugal Under-21 player, has made 156 appearances since signing for Wednesday and will remain at Hillsborough until the end of the 2016-17 season.

He featured just 16 times for the club last term, with his only start in the Championship so far in 2016 coming in the 2-1 final-day loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
