Wednesday's Euro 2024 predictions including Georgia vs. Portugal

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's European Championship fixtures, including Georgia vs. Portugal.

In the most hotly-contested group at Euro 2024, third-placed Slovakia are set to face leaders Romania on Wednesday in Group E at Deutsche Bank Park in each side's final group stage game, and the winner could qualify for the knockout rounds in first place.

All four teams in the group have three points after the opening two group games, although Slovakia and Romania did lose last time out against Ukraine and Belgium respectively.

We say: Slovakia 0-1 Romania

Considering Romania's strong defensive record, Slovakia could find their opponents difficult to break down.

However, given that all four teams in Group E have a good chance to qualify for the round of 16, the game at Deutsche Bank Park could lead to a few surprises depending on the scoreline between Ukraine and Belgium.

Ukraine vs. Belgium (Wednesday, 5.00pm)

The extremely tightly-contested Euro 2024 Group E comes to a head on Wednesday evening, where Ukraine and Belgium - the original two favourites for last-16 places - scrap it out at the MHPArena in Stuttgart.

Both nations got off the mark at the second attempt last time out, as Serhiy Rebrov's side fought back from a goal down to sink Slovakia 2-1, while the Red Devils were 2-0 victors against Romania.

We say: Ukraine 1-2 Belgium

The volume of chances created is never a problem for Belgium, who have instead been guilty of spurning chance after chance in their opening two games so far, although such profligacy did not cost them against Romania.

Facing a leaky Ukraine defence who often had Trubin to thank against Slovakia, Tedesco's men should come away with the triumph needed to punch their rightful ticket to the knockouts and leave Rebrov's side waiting to learn their fate with bated breath.

Czech Republic vs. Turkey (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Battling it out for a place in the Euro 2024 knockout phase, Czech Republic and Turkey clash at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion on Wednesday evening.

Both aiming to join Group F winners Portugal in the last 16, the Crescent-Stars must simply avoid defeat to wrap up second place, while their Czech counterparts must win and hope Georgia fail to cause an upset.

We say: Czech Republic 1-2 Turkey

Despite recording the most shots and highest xG of any team across the first two group games during their draw with Georgia, the Czech Republic managed to score just once.

They cannot afford to be so profligate on Wednesday, when Turkey can afford to counter through a skilful set of forwards, needing only one point to progress; Vincenzo Montella's men may be dubious at the back, but if their young stars shine brightly they may qualify with a win.

Georgia vs. Portugal (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

With spot top in Group F already secured, Portugal will be looking to continue their positive momentum as they face competition newcomers Georgia in Euro 2024 on Wednesday night in Gelsenkirchen.

The Selecao's back-to-back successes over the Czech Republic and Turkey have sealed a berth in the knockout stages with a game to spare, whilst the Crusaders know that only an unlikely three points would be enough to see them escape the section.

We say: Georgia 1-3 Portugal

Although their matches have been exciting to watch for neutrals so far, Georgia have been vulnerable in defence and any such frailties will be exposed by Portugal in this one.

Pushing for the win they require to progress, the Crusaders are set to leave gaps for the Selecao to exploit, likely leading to a comfortable win for Martinez's men, regardless of how heavily they opt to rotate.
