Mauricio Pochettino pleased with arrival of new chairman Ralph Krueger

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino says that he is pleased with the board changes following the arrival of new chairman Ralph Krueger.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his gratitude towards new chairman Ralph Krueger after he spoke glowingly of the Argentine coach.

The Premier League outfit announced on Wednesday that the Canadian-born former ice hockey player has taken on the role.

Krueger has replaced Nicola Cortese, who resigned from his position in January, but Pochettino has claimed that he has no plans to leave the club following the board changes.

"I do have one more year on my contract, don't I?" Sky Sports News quotes Pochettino as saying. "That also doesn't guarantee anything in football either.

"Of course it is always nice to hear someone has spoken nicely about someone and I thank him for that. It is clear that this club needs tranquility after all the upheaval that happened at the beginning of January.

"There are two months left in the league, a lot of changes this club is going through at this moment and it is clear right now we need good words to move forwards in a calm and relaxed manner at this football club."

Southampton will take on Norwich City on Saturday at St Mary's.
