Southampton forward Jay Rodgriguez believes that Aston Villa "are there for the taking" ahead of Saturday's Premier League encounter between the two sides.

Southampton forward Jay Rodgriguez has claimed that Aston Villa "are there for the taking" ahead of Saturday's Premier League encounter between the two teams.

The 17th-placed Saints travel to Villa Park this weekend on an unbeaten run of three matches in the league.

Meanwhile, 16th-placed Villa have lost three and drawn one of their last four league games.

"I think Villa are there for the taking," Rodriguez told The Mirror. "There is more pressure on them than there is on us, because they are a massive club.

"It is a tough place to go, but it is nice to see the teams you are coming up against getting a bit of stick."

Rickie Lambert scored twice for Southampton when they beat Villa 4-1 at St Mary's in September.
