Southampton are leading the way in the pursuit of centre-back Ron Vlaar this summer, according to reports.
The Dutch international is out of contract in four days at Aston Villa, and is expected to leave Villa Park in this window.
The Birmingham Mail claims that Southampton are joined in the race for his signature by Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The report suggests that the 30-year-old is currently considering his options, and will make a choice prior to the start of pre-season.
Vlaar joined Villa three years ago.
