Southend United chairman Ron Martin has revealed that the club have rejected an offer from Hull City for highly-rated goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.
Hull are believed to have watched the 22-year-old stopper during Southend's friendly against West Ham United on Saturday, before launching an official offer.
According to the Southend Echo, Hull offered in the region of £1m, but Martin has said that the offer was rejected.
"Steve Bruce spoke to Phil Brown and Steve Kavanagh but we've said no to the offer," Martin told reporters.
Bentley's current deal at Roots Hall expires next summer.
