Spain boss Vicente del Bosque: 'We have a positive mix'

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque claims that he has "a positive mix" of youth and experience in his squad ahead of Euro 2016.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he is pleased with how his squad is shaping up ahead of Euro 2016.

La Roja were eliminated in the group stages of the 2014 World Cup, but have won each of the last two European Championships and will travel to France this summer as one of the favourites to triumph.

Del Bosque, whose team face Italy in a friendly on Thursday night, has claimed that he has "a positive mix" of youth and experience in his current pool.

"We are going to France as defending champions and we are going to resist everyone who tries to take the trophy away from us," Del Bosque told The Telegraph.

"We have older players who want to win because this will be their last major international tournament, and younger players who want to win something important for the first time in their lives. They all feel passionate about football. It's a positive mix."

Del Bosque is widely expected to stand down as Spain boss following the conclusion of Euro 2016.
