Vicente del Bosque resigns as Spain boss

Vicente del Bosque reveals that he is resigning from his position with the Spanish national team.

Experienced manager Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he is resigning from his position with the Spanish national team.

The 65-year-old took control of Spain after their Euro 2008 triumph and led La Roja to success at both the 2010 World Cup and European Championships in 2012.

Spain failed to make it out of the group stages at the 2014 World Cup, however, and exited Euro 2016 in the round of 16 earlier this week after losing to Antonio Conte's Italy side.

Del Bosque told Spain's RNE radio station: "I have no intention to remain as coach. No matter what the result of the Euros, I had no doubt about what my future would be."

Del Bosque has also previously managed Real Madrid and Turkish outfit Besiktas.
