ESPN to censor Harry Redknapp abuse

ESPN will censor any verbal abuse directed at Spurs manager Harry Redknapp during Friday night's televised FA Cup fourth-round tie at Watford.

ESPN are ready to drown out any verbal abuse aimed at Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp during Friday night's televised FA Cup fourth-round tie at Watford.

The 63-year-old has attended Southwark Crown Court this week on tax evasion charges, which he denies.

"Our commitment is always to serve fans with the best coverage of the match, and to bring them closer to the action," said an ESPN spokesman.

"Equally, we are very mindful of our responsibilities as a broadcaster and to Ofcom's rules, and will take all appropriate actions from a production standpoint.

"Live sport is unpredictable – and with that comes challenges – but we have an experienced team in place that knows how to handle live sports and events."

It was confirmed on Thursday that Redknapp would be on the touchline for the match at Vicarage Road.
