Dele Alli sets sights on representing England Under-20s at Toulon Tournament

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dele Alli reveals that breaking into the England Under-20s squad is the next target he plans to tick off on his way to reaching the top.

Dele Alli has targeted a place in the England Under-20s squad for next month's Toulon Tournament to round off a memorable campaign.

The 19-year-old earned a £5m move to Tottenham Hotspur in January following his impressive displays at MK Dons and, having remained in place at the League One side for the remainder of the campaign, he was this week named as the division's second-best player.

Alli has now set his sights on stepping up from the Three Lions' Under-19s side in order to one day receive a senior cap.

"Obviously the next step to that is the Under-21s and that's the aim for me to try and break into that squad or the Under-20s," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"I really enjoyed playing for the Under-19s last year, especially with the team we had and the manager. We played a real attractive game, and we liked to play football and that is what I'm used to so it wasn't like I was going away and playing a whole new story.

"I've really enjoyed it and obviously my aim is to eventually get into the seniors. So any age group I play in, the better for me. The aim next year for me is to play at the highest level I can for England."

Alli has scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for the Dons this season.
