Tottenham Hotspur's Jermain Defoe has described goalkeeper Brad Friedel's performance against Queens Park Rangers today as "fantastic".
The veteran American produced a string of saves, particularly during the opening 45 minutes, to keep Rangers at bay as Spurs went on to win the encounter at White Hart Lane 2-1.
"Brad was fantastic, he has been doing those saves week in week out but the whole team did well," Defoe told reporters.
The England frontman went on to reveal that a change of formation from coach Andre Villas-Boas helped Spurs battle back from a goal behind.
"QPR passed it well from the back and it caused us a lot of problems," he added. "They got the goal but credit to the manager as he went 4-4-2 at half time and we pressed high up and got the chances."
Defoe scored what proved to be the winner against the R's.
