Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane believes that it will be tougher than ever finishing top of the Premier League scoring chart due to increased competition.

Harry Kane has hailed his Tottenham Hotspur teammates for providing him with the platform to once again challenge at the top of the Golden Boot chart.

The 24-year-old has finished top of the scoring pile in the English top flight for two seasons running and is well on course to do likewise in 2017-18.

After notching two more goals against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, however, taking his league tally to six for the campaign, Kane insisted that it will be tougher than ever edging out the likes of Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

"They have all started so well," he told reporters. "This will the hardest season to retain it. As a striker sometimes you go through patches like this. I said in August, sometimes it goes for you sometimes it doesn't, but this month it has gone my way.

"I am sad the month has ended. I just feel confident. I feel any chances I get around the box I will score, or definitely work the keeper. It is a pleasure to play in this team. I am there to finish moves off and put most of the chances away.

"But when you have Dele [Alli] and Christian [Eriksen], plus Ben [Davies] and Tripps (Kieran Trippier), in the wide area, and the guys backing it up we have a great squad."

England international Kane has scored 13 goals in his last eight games for club and country, all coming in the month of September.
