Harry Kane 'delighted' to end scoring drought

Tottenham Hotspur stiker Harry Kane expesses his delight after scoring in his side's 4-1 win against Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has admitted that he is delighted to have ended his goal-scoring drought in his side's 4-1 win against Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

The 22-year-old had failed to score in any competition before tapping home for Spurs' third goal after Christian Eriksen's free-kick came back off the post, but Kane always felt that he would eventually find the back of the net.

The England international told BT Sport: "There has been a lot of talk that I have not scored yet but I am a confident young man and I have faith in my ability.

"It bounced just in front of me so I just tried to get a good contact on it and it probably crept into the top corner. When you are a striker you need a bit of luck, I had one cleared off the line in midweek but it turns around.

"I am obviously delighted to get on the scoresheet but the most important thing is a very good victory against a team that was top of the table."

Tottenham head to France for their next game as they take on Monaco in the Europa League on Thursday.
