Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino claims that he is interested in becoming an international manager in the future.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has stated that he would be open to managing a national side.

The Argentine won the Ligue 1 title, the French Cup and the French Super Cup in his time with PSG, but he has been out of work since he was sacked by PSG in the summer.

Pochettino was linked with the Aston Villa job before Unai Emery replaced Steven Gerrard, and with the 50-year-old still searching for a role, he has indicated he would consider being a coach of a national team.

Pochettino told Sky Sports: "It wasn't under my consideration to go [into international management] but now, yes I am open. Why not?

"Yes, of course we are still young, full of energy, and day-by-day I like the adrenaline to train, to be involved. Maybe the national team is a different job, but why not.

"If it's not the next job, then maybe in the future. It's not specific that all I want is Argentina. If another country, why not? For sure, that would be good also."

Pochettino is currently looking for his fifth managerial job after previously coaching Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham and PSG.
