Alan Pardew has admitted that Newcastle United were "thumped" by Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Louis Saha marked his Spurs debut with two goals as the North London side romped to a 5-0 victory at White Hart Lane.

"We've been thumped. I'm just pleased about our second half," Pardew said. "I'd like to see all of them in an England shirt. They'd probably win everything.

"It's a good team, a very good team. Tottenham have got a chance of the title.

"I think Harry's got a tough decision because this isn't a team you want to walk away from."

The defeat leaves Newcastle in sixth place in the Premier League with 42 points from 25 games.
