Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino's new contract is worth £3m-a-year more than his original deal, according to a report.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been made the third-highest earning manager in the Premier League after signing a Tottenham Hotspur contract extension.

The Lilywhites confirmed on Thursday afternoon that terms have been agreed on a five-year deal, ending any talk of the 46-year-old moving on this summer.

According to The Telegraph, the new contract is worth £42.5m across its duration - or £8.5m a year - placing the Argentine behind only Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho in terms of salary.

Pochettino now plans to spend £150m overhauling his squad, it is claimed, with the intention of winning some silverware in the 2018-19 campaign.

The previous deal signed by Pochettino, which ran until 2021, was allegedly worth around £5.5m a year.
