Mauricio Pochettino eyeing fifth-place finish

Mauricio Pochettino has set his sights on securing a fifth-place finish and a Europa League spot when Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

If results go Spurs' way, finishing fifth will see them gain automatic qualification to the Europa League group stages for next season.

Pochettino failed to secure Champions League football in his first season in charge of the club and now wants to end the season in the highest position possible.

"We have the opportunity to achieve fifth in the table and we need to put our energy into Everton," he told reporters.

The Toffees can finish no higher than 10th but will be looking to match the result of West Ham United, with whom they remain level on points and goal difference.
