Mauricio Pochettino: 'Harry Kane better than Eden Hazard this season'

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says that hitman Harry Kane would be a more deserving recipient of PFA Player of the Year than Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane deserves to win PFA Player of the Year ahead of Chelsea's Eden Hazard, according to Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The duo saw their heroics this season rewarded with a nomination for the coveted individual award, with David de Gea, Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Philippe Coutinho also in contention.

The England striker, 21, is one shy of reaching the 30-goal barrier in what has proven a talismanic breakthrough season at White Hart Lane.

Hazard, meanwhile, has been instrumental in a Blues team that sits on the brink of winning the Premier League title, but Pochettino says that Kane has had the bigger impact.

"Hazard is a very good player, he's fantastic. But the impact that Harry has had on English football is massive," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"Everyone knew that Hazard is a brilliant player but I think not too many people expected that Harry Kane would show the performances that he has. This is the difference."

The Belgian schemer is odds-on favourite to win the award.
