Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino: "We were never in the game"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino admits that his side "were never in the game" during the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino has conceded that his Tottenham Hotspur side "were never in the game" against Manchester United at Old Trafford today.

Spurs saw their five-game unbeaten run against the Red Devils come to an end as first-half goals from Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney settled matters, with Spurs managing just one shot on target in the whole game.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the match, Pochettino said: "We are disappointed because our performance today was very poor and we have to analyse why.

"After we conceded the first goal it seemed that the game was finished and we never found a way to damage Manchester United. We were never in the game."

Defeat means that Tottenham are six points behind fourth-placed Man United in the top-four race.
