Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has emerged as the favourite to take over at Tottenham Hotspur should Antonio Conte leave this summer, according to a report.

The future of Conte at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains up in the air, with the Italian seeking assurances over a significant transfer budget in the upcoming transfer window in order to freshen up his Spurs squad.

Doubts have been raised about whether the 52-year-old will continue at the North London club next season, with the former Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan boss reportedly prepared to walk away from the job.

As a result, Spurs have drawn up plans to replace Conte should he not take charge of the 2022-23 campaign, and The Telegraph are reporting that Potter is the favourite ahead of Roberto Mancini and former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Potter was reportedly approached by Spurs over the vacant manager's post last summer, but the 46-year-old turned down the offer to stay at the Amex Stadium before Nuno Espirito Santo was hired instead.

The report outlines that the desire of the club hierarchy is that Conte remains in charge, whilst there are reservations about whether a return for Pochettino is a wise move.

The Argentinian looks set to be sacked from Paris Saint-Germain before next season gets underway, whilst it is currently unclear whether Mancini would be prepared to walk away from his current role with the Italy national side.

Meanwhile, Potter next takes charge of the Seagulls when they host Manchester United on Saturday, having led his side to ninth in the Premier League table at the time of writing.
